UBT+ 2000 - The World's First Two Megawatt single-module Lithium-ion UPS

Piller has unveiled the world’s largest single module battery-backed UPS, delivered VRLA and lithium-ion ready. By condensing the multiple paralleled solutions of other technologies into a single unit, the UBT+2000 cuts costs and increases reliability in large data center and other mission-critical environments.

The UNIBLOCK™ UBT+ 2000 is a high power density UPS developed from proven technology deployed across many data centers. On-line efficiency ratings of 97% promise notable cost savings for operators. The capital cost per kW is reduced and maintenance is kept to a minimum with its capacitor-free and parallel-free internal layout. Like the servers it protects, the UPS can operate at elevated temperatures often eliminating the need for additional air conditioning equipment.

The unit is highly scalable, allowing up to 16 x 2MW to be installed in parallel with a total capacity of up to 32MW in one system. Furthermore, the technology allows for a complete range of system design options, from conventional low-voltage configurations to medium-voltage designs, through to the optimized efficiency and availability of leading-edge IP-bus systems able to deliver Tier III and even Tier IV compliance with simple N+1 redundancy.

UBT+ Rotary UPS from 500kW up to 40 MW

The Piller UNIBLOCK UBT+ offers a unique design with versatile options, making it perfectly suited for existing or new installations.

The UBT+ gives the highest efficiency and performance with minimum components. It combines the benefits of all different power supply configurations for short-term or long-term bridging, with standby generation or cogeneration. The UBT+ can be used in low and medium voltage applications; cooling can be by air or chilled water; ride through storage can be batteries or flywheel.

UBR Hybrid Rotary UPS from 150 kVA up to 1300 kVA

The UNIBLOCK UBR by virtue of its low output impedance, inherently delivers fault current of 14 times the nominal full load. Offering fault current delivery similar to the system's utility transformer, security is provided the UBR even when utility power isn't available. This guarantees disconnection of a downstream fault within 10 milliseconds, without having to go to an unprotected bypass source like other UPS systems!

When fault clearing occurs, the UBR maintains full UPS function, including battery operation, and remaining loads are unaffected. A UBR assures that a localized fault won't take out the entire dat center.

UBTD+ Rotary Diesel UPS from 500 kW up to 40 MW

The UBTD+ is unlike any other UPS. Consisting of a special combination of proprietary motor generator and choke, this UPS provides a very simple and highly reliable uninterruptible power solution with exceptionally high efficiencies. The technology employed provides an extremely robust, small footprint, high power solution designed to give over 20 years of dependable operation.

Critical Power Modules

The Piller Critical Power Module (CPM) is designed to deliver optimum performance combined with all of the operational features modern data centers demand. The CPM houses its own energy storage with sufficient guaranteed capacity for delayed transition to standby generators. Capable of operating in up to four different modes, the CPM affords the perfect balance between required levels of protection and electrical efficiency.

The energy store is self-contained within the module and designed to operate with extremely low losses. The CPM is designed with total costs, implementation speed and ease-of-maintenance in mind.

CPM Servicing

CEG provides annual maintenance for Piller Critical Power Modules. There is no requirement for invasive and risky battery autonomy testing. There is no time wasted collecting and analyzing battery readings, the interpretation of which is at best speculative. One simple annual inspection with replacement of any consumables, keeps the CPM in proper working order and provides peace of mind for the client.

CEG gives every customer a detailed report about the unit's condition, as well as the power conditioning events experienced by the UPS since the last report. Periodic overhaul (typically after 10 years) is also straightforward and can be conducted easily and quickly with the unit in situ.

Energy Storage Flywheels & Battery Systems

POWERBRIDGE

Piller is a market leader of kinetic energy storage ranging up to 60MJ+ per unit. Piller's POWERBRIDGE storage systems have unique design techniques employed to provide high energy content with low losses. These energy stores can be configured singularly or in parallel with a variety of Piller UPS units to facilitate a wide range of power-time combinations.

The POWERBRIDGE is a highly compact, efficient and practical replacement for conventional batteries. The unit can deliver power above 3MW and provide 1MW of electrical power for over 60 seconds. This extraordinary achievement comes with very low losses and minimal maintenance.

Batteries

Common batteries (both sealed and flooded), VRLA, wet cells and lithium-ion are a widely utilized sources of back up energy storage for Piller power quality systems. Solutions can also include battery cabinets. CEG offers comprehensive monitoring and maintenance to assure reliable battery operation and to prolong their life. Services are turnkey, including removal, installation, testing and reporting.

Static Transfer Switches - 25A up to 1600A

APOTRANS

In the ever-increasing requirement for resilient and redundant power supplies, the Piller APOTRANS unit represents the latest evolution of redundancy.

The APOTRANS static transfer switch is suitable either as a retrofit to existing power distribution systems or for new systems. It supports critical loads by invisibly switching to an alternative power source should the preferred source become out of tolerance or fail completely. From 25A to 63A to 125A to 1600A units, Piller provides the optimum solution.
